Which materials suit each age group in a daycare?
For babies, objects to grasp and a movement area on the floor. For toddlers, shape boxes, insets, stacking games and a ride-on. For older children, a pretend play corner, puzzles, fine motor materials and a construction set.
How many toys does a group need?
Fewer than you think, but several of each: three identical rattles prevent more conflict than three different models. Keep part of the materials in reserve and rotate them every few weeks.
