What is a ten frame?
A grid of two rows of five squares. By placing counters in it, the child sees at a glance how many there are and how many are missing to make ten. It supports number bonds to ten and first additions.
What is a hundred board for?
It shows the numbers 1 to 100 in ten rows of ten. The child spots the tens, counts in twos or tens and notices the patterns in the number system.
